Semi-Annual School Councils' Conferences

School Councils' Conferences take place every spring and fall. This event provides a great opportunity for delegates to connect with others from throughout our Yukon school communities and to participate in discussions and information sessions. There are training sessions, presentations, information updates and announcements, and workshops on a variety of relevant topics and issues.

These gatherings are of great benefit to School Councils and others interested in Yukon public education. They promote and enable a shared gathering that focuses on improving student learning through informed decision-making.

The AYSCBC Annual General Meeting will take place on Friday, April 20th at 4:15pm at the Westmark Whitehorse.  Presentation of annual reports as well as the organization's priorities and the 2012 Workplan will be discussed.  Member Councils are encouraged to have representation at this event in order to provide input to the discussions. 
There will be a supper hosted by AYSCBC following the AGM for its Member School Councils.

Funding support to offset costs incurred to attend the conference may be available to rural School Councils who are Members of AYSCBC.

WORKING TOGETHER TO SUPPORT LEARNING
October 20-22, 2011
High Country Inn, Whitehorse
FRIDAY will be a shared professional development day-- Yukon School Administrators and School Council members learning together.

This event will highlight the important roles we all have in providing the conditions for learning and leading in our schools and communities.  Sessions will include informative and interactive discussion on resiliency, building on strengths, leadership and more.  See you there!
